Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court just days before an election highlights what we’ve known for a long time:

Mitch McConnell can’t be trusted to do the right thing. We need a Democratic Majority in the Senate.

Only then will we be able to make progress on the issues we all care deeply about, from healthcare to Veterans’ issues to supporting working parents. Otherwise, McConnell and Senate Republicans will continue to block efforts to protect Americans from COVID-19 and other important priorities. We know they’ll just keep sending important bills to their legislative graveyard.

But if we are going to win a Senate Majority, we’ll need to elect Democrats to the Senate from key swing states and support incumbents like Senator Tammy Duckworth. So we have to ask:

Will you make a contribution to support Senator Duckworth’s re-election campaign? Democrats can’t afford to lose a single Senate seat. Chip in here:

Mitch McConnell has refused to hold a Senate vote on substantive, comprehensive COVID-19 relief for our country. Meanwhile, families are struggling to keep food on the table.

But he doesn’t care about that. All he has worried about recently was confirming Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court. He’s putting partisan politics ahead of the needs of working Americans.

It’s not right — but it won’t change until Democrats take back the Senate and replace Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader.
