Today, Donald Trump is back in the state that handed him the presidency in 2016 to rally the right-wing base — just as polls show a single-digit race in Wisconsin.
There’s no doubt in my mind that this surge of visits by Trump and members of his campaign have significantly shifted the numbers in our state days before this election.
But look, Democrats still hold a narrow lead in Wisconsin, which means we cannot afford to take anything for granted.
Remember, Hillary Clinton was leading Donald Trump in the polls by more than six points in Wisconsin around this time in 2016.
We can’t let up. Not even for a second. If we do, Trump could win our state by less than one point and receive the final electoral votes he needs to secure the presidency — again. That’s why he keeps coming back and why it’s critical that we do everything we can to defeat him.
