Election Day is just seven days away, and the issues on the ballot this year could reshape California for years to come. Racial and gender equity, criminal justice, voting rights, online privacy – it's all on the line.

That's why we've released a voter's guide for some of the key ballot measures that will have a significant impact on our civil liberties. See our complete voter guide before you cast your vote on Election Day.

Here's a quick breakdown of our recommendations for some of the statewide propositions:

• Proposition 15 would reclaim $12 billion each year for schools and critical local services by closing corporate commercial property tax loopholes. Vote YES on Prop 15.
• Proposition 16 would address systemic racism and gender discrimination and ensure equal access to good jobs, good wages, and quality schools. Vote YES on Prop 16.
• Proposition 17 would restore voting rights to 50,000 people who have returned home after finishing their prison terms and reverse a racist form of voter suppression that has lingered since the Jim Crow era. Vote YES on Prop 17.

• Proposition 20 would roll back reforms to our criminal justice system and ratchet up the criminalization, incarceration, and oppression of Black and Brown communities. Vote NO on Prop 20.
• Proposition 24 would place the burden on individuals to protect their digital privacy, disproportionately harming vulnerable communities. Vote NO on Prop 24.

ACLU Supporter, this is an unprecedented election season, rife with misinformation from the highest levels. Californians need to stay informed and stay organized to hold the line on attacks against our civil liberties.
