Friend,
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, domestic abuse cases are dramatically rising. With schools forced to close and access to social settings limited, many children are trapped in abusive homes. The pandemic has brought an increased risk of violence, abuse and exploitation to our most vulnerable.
Child protection programs and outreach have also suffered. Staffing shortages and closures mean fewer opportunities to connect with children living in dangerous environments. Case management and home visits for children and women at risk of abuse are among the most commonly disrupted services. |
