Members of Congress returned to DC this week, following their annual August recess. As legislators flocked to the nation's capital, the ASA team took to the skies to continue our fight to protect and expand suppressor rights at the federal level.
While in DC, we visited with legislators on the Hill and administration officials to discuss avenues for pro-suppressor reform. We also attend the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation's Annual Banquet, where nearly 60 bipartisan members of Congress were in attendance. Special thanks to ASA Sponsor NASGW for graciously hosting us at their table.
While Congress took the month of August off, ASA focused on state-level advocacy. In Virginia, ASA testified before the Virginia State Crime Commission in opposition to proposed suppressor restrictions; in Massachusetts, ASA submitted testimony in support of a bill that would legalize individual suppressor ownership in Massachusetts.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Stay informed - look for our emails and follow us on Facebook and Instagram
- Stay involved - Call or write your representatives. Sign our petition to let Congress know you are against restrictions on suppressors.
- Inform others - Tell your friends and family about ASA and encourage them to join.
- Support advocacy - Buy a raffle ticket, join ASA, and support our work. If you own a suppressor now, are waiting on the transfer of a suppressor, or are thinking of buying one you need to join the only organization solely dedicated to protecting and expanding your suppressor rights.
