Our lawmakers should be ashamed. Instead of providing urgently needed COVD-19 relief addressing widespread unemployment, or helping families put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads, the Senate rushed to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. This confirmation is unprecedented, illegitimate, and disastrous for our collective wellbeing. Judge Barrett showed no concern for our fundamental rights in her confirmation hearing. She repeatedly dodged questions on abortion, the Affordable Care Act, racial justice, voting rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. 

There is so much at stake right now.
