John: just moments ago, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to fill the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court.
The future of healthcare access, reproductive rights, workers’ rights, and LGBTQ rights are now all at risk, and will be for decades with the Supreme Court’s ultra-conservative, 6-3 majority.
We must take this moment to channel our rage and frustration into what’s next. We need to turn out as many people to vote on or before November 3rd as possible so we can keep the House, flip the Senate blue, and stop Donald Trump and his administration forever. And once we do, we need to demand that our lawmakers in Washington expand the Supreme Court.
John, there is no doubt that this is a terrifying outcome for our nation and democracy. Like so many of you, I’m scared for our future and what this means.
But at this critical time, we must not despair; instead, we must act and be ready to fight for the next 8 days leading up to Election Day. I hope you’ll join me.
