Dear John,

Yesterday was my birthday, which made me reflect with gratitude on the myriad twists and turns of my life and career. Growing up in Michigan, I would never have imagined living in New York and raising a son in Manhattan. I would have never imagined going back to college, switching careers, and working in politics as Lindsey’s Campaign Manager. But when I think back on my life, it all makes sense. Because I believe wholeheartedly in embracing change.

Change isn’t easy. I know this firsthand. But when a choice has to be made between accepting the status quo and pursuing what’s right, the decision is clear. Our country, and our district, desperately needs change. We need new leaders that are willing to break through complacency and fight for our country, our communities, and our families. We need the moral clarity and courage to do the right thing.
