John --
Before becoming President, Donald Trump had a thoroughly documented track record of stiffing contractors and workers for payment on his high-rises, condos, and casinos. These hardworking men and women would do the work, then Trump would drag his feet, file lawsuits, or just walk away from his financial obligations to these workers.
Now, he's doing it to American taxpayers.
The mayor of Washington, D.C. sent a letter to the administration with a bill for his 4th of July parade: $1.7 million. This comes from an account that the city of Washington uses to protect the capital from terrorist threats. Thanks to Trump, the fund is now empty and running a deficit.
One reason is because the Trump administration has stiffed American taxpayers for $7.3 million from Trump's inauguration. This has been a running issue for Trump going back to when he was running in 2016. El Paso, Tucson, Erie, Green Bay and other municipal governments are left holding the bag for his self-aggrandizing, ego-stroking rallies.
If you or I didn't pay our bills the lights would go out, the water could be shut off, or our home could be seized. But this President thinks nothing of not paying his AND stiffing taxpayers all over this great country.
Let us know your thoughts on the President skipping out on the bill.
Thanks,
Congressman Evans HQ
