Yesterday, I visited Mecklenburg, Brunswick, and Lunenburg as part of our final district-wide tour (affectionately known as our “Tour de Fifth”). We loved connecting with community members and leaders, small business owners, and soon-to-be voters!

From the start of this campaign, we’ve always prioritized meeting with as many people as possible–visiting every corner of this vast and diverse district. It’s important to me that we meet voters where they are and ensure they feel heard. Even though the pandemic changed the way that campaigning looks, the circumstances around this unique election cycle have never deterred us from reaching out to connect with voters.

As our race gets tighter and tighter, it’s never been more important for voters all over the district to hear our message directly. While we’ve worked hard to show people who I am and what I stand for, my opponent’s strategy is apparently to simply push out as many divisive and misleading attacks as possible. We can’t let that kind of campaigning win the day.

We need our message to continue breaking through the noise with voters across Virginia’s Fifth District. In order to do that, we continue to need the resources to communicate through TV, radio, and digital. We’re nearing the end of this race, and it is critical that we raise another $50,000 by tomorrow night to make sure we keep our message in front of voters all the way through when they cast their ballots.
