Democrat,
Until 2016, parts of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties had a dubious distinction -- they were represented in Congress by Scott Garrett, one of the most conservative Republicans in Washington and in many ways a precursor to the kind of cruel and divisive policies exhibited now by Donald Trump. That all changed when Democrat Josh Gottheimer won a breakthrough victory, defeating Garrett and bringing new leadership to the 5th District.

Since his election and successful re-election in 2018, Josh Gottheimer has staked out a reputation as one of the most bipartisan members of the House of Representatives. He works across the aisle to solve some of the biggest problems facing New Jersey, like restoring the SALT deduction to reduce taxes on the middle class and building the Gateway Project to protect our regional economy. You can learn more about Josh on his website here. [[link removed]]
Congressman Gottheimer is running for re-election now against another far right idealogue who won’t take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and refuses to condemn a domestic terrorist group [[link removed]] that one of his key supporters is a member of. That’s why we need to support Josh, as well as the rest of our excellent Democratic congressional delegation. Chip in here to support New Jersey Democrats in the home stretch of this election.
