There's Still Time to Get #ProudParent Oreos

Haven’t entered for Rainbow OREO cookies yet? The giveaway lasts until October 31, so if you’re a PFLAG member or supporter, there’s still time to get #ProudParent cookies!

Here's what you need to do to receive a cookie redemption code to claim your own:

  1. Join our #ProudParent campaign and share a photo of what allyship means to you. Whatever it is, we love to see it! You do NOT have to be a parent to claim your OREO cookies - we welcome parents, LGBTQ+ community members, and allies to participate!
  2. Post your photo on Instagram or Twitter using #ProudParent and #Giveaway, and tag @Oreo in the caption. Don't forget to follow @Oreo too!

The giveaway is open to people 13 years old and over, in the 50 states, DC, and PR. The giveaway ends October 31st or when all 10,000 rewards are claimed, whichever comes first.

Three Steps to Being Kind on Social Media (While You’re Stuck at Home)

Just because you’re staying in, and times are tough, doesn’t mean doesn’t mean your social media skills should regress! So, stay safe and take these steps to engage.

  1. Learn: Read this article about managing social media during an election year  and this one about confirmation bias online to learn more how you can be a better person on social media and shut down fake news and trolls online.
  2. Watch: Check out Let's Get Social: Social Media the PFLAG Way and Moderate Moderating: Social Media Engagement the PFLAG Way, both presented with PFLAG Chapter leaders in mind –but useful for anyone who is trying to create conversation rather than flame wars and be kinder online.
  3. Share: Use social media to elevate what is important to you and demonstrate your allyship! Be brave, share posts about LGBTQ+ equality (and racial justice, voting rights, disability justice, environmental justice, whatever you are most passionate about) and make a commitment to engage with your friends and followers (but don’t feed the trolls!).

Election Day is almost here: Voter Protection is Critical

Our democracy depends on ordinary people who make sure elections run smoothly and everyone's vote is counted. Here are some helpful--and 501c3-friendly--resources to help protect the vote this year.

  • Power the Polls: Sign up to be a poll worker.
  • Poll Hero: Students in college and high school, sign up to be a paid poll worker.
  • 866OurVote: Be an election protection volunteer (must have legal training).
  • ProtectTheVote.net: Be a non-partisan poll monitor.
