This election could be historic for different reasons than you would think.

This seat has taken on added importance, as the possibility of a contested Presidential election increases. That is why Republicans have just recently dumped millions into my race.

Specifically, if the winner of the Presidential election is still unclear when the newly sworn in Congress counts the Electoral College votes, election experts are looking at what’s called a contingency election.

In a contingency election, the Congressional delegation of each state decides which way that state’s vote will go. In the event of a tie, no votes are counted for the state. In our current configuration, if my opponent wins, Nevada will be split evenly 2-2. But if I win, our state would vote 3-1 in favor of Joe Biden.

Just a few weeks ago, Trump let us know that he’s considered this outcome too:

This may seem like an unlikely scenario, but election analysts, journalists, and the President himself are already considering this is a true possibility.

We have to protect Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, but in order to do that I need your help to make this an unmistakable win with record-breaking Democratic turnout.
