Open this message today? ? ? ? ? Friend ? the race in Maine could easily decide control of the Senate ? and polls now have the race between Susan Collins and Sara Gideon within the margin of error.

We've got very little time ? but at this point in the race, we're still seeing a lot of voters who should have received their mail-in ballots, but haven't returned them. The best thing we can do to win is something called "ballot chasing" ? where we reach those voters to make sure they get them submitted in time.

We're also seeing some reports of ballots not being accepted. This can happen for a few different reasons, like a mismatched signature. These are mail-in ballots in Maine that might not count if voters don't take action ? and we're reaching these voters to let them know.

We're reaching voters every day who otherwise might not be getting counted. Polls don't take rejected or uncast ballots into consideration. A minor lead isn't going to win this race ? and as things stand, it's looking close enough that unreturned or rejected ballots could cost us the election.

Friend ? we need to scale ballot-chasing operations up in a major way. Please, donate today. Every dollar will be triple matched. Even $3 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]

We're making sure these votes count ? but we're also putting a laser focus on split-ticket voters: those who are considering a vote for Biden (D) and Collins (R).

Among these split-ticket voters, Collins has tried to appeal as a "bipartisan vote" in the Senate. She has claimed for years, and now again in her campaign, that she votes across the aisle ? but her actual record reveals otherwise: she's voted to back every single one of Trump's most anti-environmental policies.

When voters hear the truth from us, we're flipping votes away from Collins in a major way. But early voting is already underway in Maine ? every day we wait is a lost chance to secure this race. When we reach voters, research shows our messaging works. But we need the resources to target every single split-ticket voter before it's too late.

We're hoping to scale up in Maine in the final days of this election, but as it stands, the budget isn't there. Scaling up would mean pulling out of another state.

The truth is, winning in Maine won't mean much if we lose all the other swing Senate seats. Realistically, we also need to help ensure ballots are counted in North Carolina, Montana, Arizona, and Iowa if we're going to have a shot at an environmental majority.

These are all states where the Republican senator has voted with the Trump agenda. Every race pitches an environmental candidate against a senator who has approved racist, anti-environment policies all the way through.

We're a week away from one of the most historic election days in our lives. We have two choices: will we embrace science, and uplift policies that put people most impacted by pollution and climate change ? especially communities of color, Indigenous communities, and low-wealth communities ? at the center of solutions, or will we condemn our children and grandchildren to a planet on fire, communities without land and resources, democracy corrupted? This is what's at stake in the Senate and in the White House.

Make an emergency contribution to LCV Victory Fund today ? every dollar will be tripled, and even $3 is enough to make a difference [link removed]

Time is almost out, and we can't push these races across the finish line without you.

Thank you for everything you do, friend. Maine is the key to an environmental Senate ? and we can win here with you on our side.
