Here’s how we’re making the most of the next few days before November 3:

Indivisibles,

After the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in mid-September, you swiftly turned your grief into action and did the work to tell your senators: no confirmation until inauguration. Rather than honor the millions of votes that have already been cast in this election, the Senate will move to confirm Amy Coney Barrett later today. Senate Democrats fought hard to preserve RBG’s final wish and block this nomination, but they fell short by the slimmest of margins. Today’s confirmation vote is a reminder that this election isn’t just about Trump -- we have to take back the Senate. Help us reclaim our power on November 3 by phonebanking into Payback states:

Phonebank this week

It’s no surprise that every Payback Senator (except Sen. Susan Collins, who thinks she can be redeemed after her vote to confirm Kavanaugh) will vote to confirm ACB against the will of the American people. If you had any doubts about their priorities, they chose to score political points with Trump rather than pass relief for millions of struggling Americans during a pandemic that has already claimed over 225,000 American lives and destroyed our economy. They don’t care about the threat Barrett poses to the Affordable Care Act, LGBTQ rights, or access to safe and legal abortion. They’ve shown us exactly who they are -- now we have to show them we won’t stand for it.

This is the final stretch, let’s get to work with your weekly to-dos:

 Your weekly to-dos

  1. Volunteer to phonebank with Windivisible. We’ve done everything we can to block ACB’s confirmation, now we need to empower as many voters as possible to reclaim our power. By calling voters in Payback states, you’ll be having meaningful conversations with people we need on our team to vote out the leaders who have failed us. Getting on the phone with these voters is crucial -- this is the final stretch and we need everyone on board to win.
  2. Take this pledge to triple your vote. Multiply your impact by getting three people you know to turn out and vote. Once you’ve signed the pledge, check out our message templates and tips on how to start reaching out. Then, check out this mini-guide to help you address common questions you might get when you talk to your friends and family.
  3. Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Call-o-ween on October 31, from 3 pm to 6 pm ET. Before you begin your Halloween night activities, join the Indivisible team for GOTV Call-o-ween! We'll be making calls to voters in key states -- and having a lot of fun doing it together!
  4. Check out our new Protect the Results event map to demand a peaceful transition of power after the election. Indivisibles all over the country are getting ready to mobilize ahead of a potential constitutional crisis if Trump refuses to accept the results of the election. Join or host an event to demand that every vote is counted. If you’re curious about hosting an event for your community, click here to learn more about hosting an event and click here to RSVP for our next training on sustained pressure.
  5. Indivisible Rural Call on October 28 at 8 pm ET. Join Indivisible's National Political Director Mari Urbina for a final election pep talk and Nora Sharp, who will discuss the Protect the Results work through a rural lens. For those that want to stay on the call, we'll be phonebanking into North Carolina and Arizona!
  6. Donate $10 today to help us win big this November and fund all our work. With just 15 days to Election Day, we’re sprinting to win races up and down the ballot nationwide. We’re the movement to do it, but in order to afford the ads, mailers, phonebanking tools, and more to make it happen, we need funds. We don’t take money from corporations or politicians, so we’re asking for your support.

 Use your power

With only a few days left until the most crucial election of our lives, we wanted to leave you with a little hope and inspiration. For the last four years, you’ve been working hard to organize your communities, electing members of Congress who embody your values, and pushing back against Trump’s dangerous policies. As former President Barack Obama said in the video above, “We can’t just imagine a better future, we have to fight for it. We have to vote like never before and leave no doubt.”

Indivisibles like you have been fighting for that better future, and we hope you’ll spend the next few days of the final stretch having conversations with loved ones and friends about the importance of getting out the vote.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
