Then he uses his millions to run ads calling Burgess Owens unqualified and extreme.
But it's funny to hear a career politician call a businessman and philanthropist unqualified.
The truth is Owens' family story shows what is possible in America.
He grew up in the deep south, made it to the NFL through talent and hard work.
But then he failed in business and started over, working as a chimney sweep at one point to take care of his family.
Like he says in the video below: "Washington DC needs less career politicians and more chimney sweeps!"
Democrats hate his message. They hate that he talks about his faith, hard work, determination and the American Dream.
So they've made the race all about smear and attacks.
He's in a toss-up race in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In 2018 the Democrat won by 400 votes.
