John,
We’re 9 days out from the election, and we just came up with an idea that could be a game changer for getting out the vote. Here’s the plan:
The most influential people in a community aren't mega celebrities who have millions of followers. They’re regular, everyday people from those communities.1 And local online groups like NextDoor or Facebook are some of the only places where we can still reach people.
Even though it may seem like you're seeing a ton about voting already, this is still important. Voting reminders need to be frequent in order to be effective.
That’s why we need you to spread the word in your online community.
Ready? Here’s what you can do:
-
Find and join any relevant local groups in your neighborhood like NextDoor, Facebook, Reddit, and listservs.
-
Draft and submit a post with election information (sample below).2
Make sure you include a link to How To Vote and Get to the Polls. Message the mods or admin and ask them to pin the post.
-
Reply to this email to tell us how it goes!
Finally, forward this email to five friends so they can activate their corner of the Internet too.
Together for our democracy,
Shuo at Fight for the Future

Subject: Here are the resources you need to make sure you can cast your vote this election season
Hey [ YOUR GROUP ]!
It’s getting down to the wire before the election. We’re in a super important state, so let’s make sure we all get our votes out.
Here are some tools by TurboVote to get you to the polls:
-
How To Vote: a state-by-state summary of voter registration and voting rules.
-
Get to the Polls: a tool to help us figure out where to vote, return ballot, what’s on our ballot, and how to contact our election officials by address.
Feel free to share more information or tips here too, or ask questions if anything comes up.
Best,
[ YOUR NAME ]
