Hi, All –

If you’re anything like me – and, c’mon, we can’t be that different – you probably spend more time worrying about the state of the world than you did five years ago. Or even five weeks ago? *Yipes*

Great news: There is something you can do right now that will have a 100% positive impact on addressing Climate Change. Guaranteed!

On September 20, there will be a National Climate Strike.  We’re asking everyone in our volunteer network—that’s 1100 people—to contact at least five people in their network to encourage them to come out for the Climate Strike. Just five, that’s it. And when 1100 people reach out to 5 people we have a network of 4 BILLION people!! Or at least a deeply significant number of people.

Here’s all you gotta do:

1.   Think of five people you know. People with email addresses or phone numbers.

2.   Come up with a message you might send them. Or feel free to use this one: “Hey [blank], you’re a very cool person and I’m happy you’re in my life. Please join me and a bunch of other cool people as we gather for a Climate Strike on 9/20 at 11am in Grant Park. Cool people, cool Earth – can’t wait to strike with you!”

3.   Send your (or my) message to your five people.

4.   Now add one more, ‘cuz you’re on a roll!

5.   Congratulate yourself for job well done—you have just STW (Spread The Word) on a very important and historical event!

So, Five for Friday. Do it. We need to get the word out on this and that “we” includes “you.” Not sure why I put that in quotation marks. Anyway, have a great day and thank you for all you do for the climate.

Peace,
