John, this
weekend, I took some time to give a few of our small-dollar donors a call
and thank them for pitching in to this campaign.

The conversations we shared ranged from raising teenagers as single
parents, what distance learning is like for teachers right now, what it
means to have representation for working families in Congress, and how
we’re going to move our country forward after this year’s election.

I absolutely love getting the chance to chat with supporters like
you, John. Because this campaign
is about fighting for working families, and it’s fueled by the
small-dollar, grassroots supporters from across the country who pitch in
$5 or $10 at a time.

[ [link removed] ]Soon, I'll be making calls again—thanking a few folks who give what
they can to this email. Can you pitch in today,
John? We’re entering the final stretch of this
campaign, so this is when every dollar we raise makes a huge difference.

I believe that together, we can fundamentally change how campaigns are
funded and change who our government works for.

Because I can count on the support from grassroots donors like you, I
don’t take campaign contributions from lobbyists or corporate PACs. And I
don't take money from executives at Big Oil companies or Wall Street
banks.

I'm not just some politician who is bought and paid for by the special
interests who write them large checks. So when it’s my turn to question
witnesses during hearings, I don’t have the voice of some lobbyist in the
back of my mind, asking for a favor in exchange for their large campaign
contribution.

I don't fight on behalf of billionaires, corporations, or special
interests, I fight for the American people. That’s why every single
contribution we receive—no matter the amount—makes a powerful difference,
and why I’m spending my time this week calling grassroots donors who pitch
in.

[ [link removed] ]I couldn’t do this without you,
John, and I would love the chance to give you
a call and say thanks. Please pitch in whatever you can to power our
campaign in the final stretch. If you get a call from an unfamiliar
number, pick up—it might be me!

Thanks for being by my side in this fight,

Katie
