Congress can block Trump’s funding to terrorize immigrants.
John--
Every week Trump finds new and cruel ways to criminalize people fleeing devastation in their home country. Last week, after Hurricane Dorian decimated the Bahamas, hundreds of survivors were cruelly kicked off a Florida-bound ferry after Trump warned the mothers and children “could be gang members.” Denying Bahamian refugees who have suffered beyond comprehension safety is sickening. He can’t do all this evil alone, he needs the resources and funding to do it. That’s where you come in, John.
Trump is orchestrating a backdoor money grab as a budget manipulation tactic-- one the administration has used before. Congress has the power to block this and it’s up to us to make sure they do. This was Congress’s first week back from recess which means the 2020 budget fight is ramping up, and we need your help to stop Congress from expanding the agencies who take our tax dollars and abuse and kill our immigrant neighbors, friends and family members.
When Congress approves millions and millions of vital funding to ICE and CBP, women and children disproportionately pay the price. Speak out now to demand that Congress cuts funding for ICE and CBP and puts restrictions in place to stop the administration for stealing from other DHS agencies to fund its terror.
