John,

When I took over as Sheriff of Maricopa County, there was a
major divide between young adults in our community and law
enforcement.

The Arpaio-Sheridan administration destroyed trust with the
community, and restoring that relationship became a top priority
for me from the very beginning.

One way we sought to overcome that was through our Pathways
to Justice program. Through the program, we meet with young
adults in high school to teach them about government and law
enforcement.

This is truly a two-way relationship. While the students get
some valuable civics lessons, members of MCSO get to learn more
about the communities they serve. They get an up close look at
how students communicate, what issues impact them the most, and
how we can serve them better.

What better way to build bridges than to build
opportunities? Watch our video on the Pathways to Justice
program, then consider chipping in a contribution so we can keep
moving our community forward.
