Ever since Republicans rode a wave of dark money to victory in 2010, they've used their power in statehouses to manipulate maps, suppress votes, and obstruct progress at every turn.

During their decade of minority rule, the GOP has refused to enact gun safety legislation, tried to strip away health care from millions of Americans, rolled back action on climate change, refused to address criminal justice reform, and so much more.

Imagine how different the past decade might have been if, instead, Democrats had won control of state legislatures across the country. We could have seen our government work to make our lives better and take action on the crises we're facing.

We're at a critical crossroads: The next few days will determine whether we relive another decade of obstruction or bring about a decade of progress. The NDRC is investing heavily in 13 states where we can flip state legislatures this fall, but we're running out of time.

As A.G. Holder constantly reminds us, there are no do-overs after November 3. If we fall short like we did in 2016 and 2010, we will have to live with the consequences -- not just for four more years but for another decade.
