Friend --

As hunting season gets into full swing, it’s important to remember that public lands play an integral role in preserving our western outdoor heritage now and for generations to come. However, those lands are at risk because it’s been over a year since Trump’s team put the racist, anti-public lands extremist William Perry Pendley in charge of the Bureau of Land Management -- and he’s still there! Call your Senators today and tell them that you’re watching what happens with Pendley, and you demand his removal now.

We’ve been sounding the alarm about William Pendley’s extremism for over a year now, and frankly -- we can’t imagine a worse choice for the official who’s supposedly in charge of protecting our public lands. Here are just a few examples to keep in mind when you call your senators today:

  • Pendley wants to sell off all of our public lands. Again, this is the person in charge of protecting our public lands.
  • He’s racist and has compared immigration to “a cancer.”
  • He’s attacked Native American nation sovereignty throughout his career.
  • On endangered species, his position is “Shoot, shovel, and shut up.”
  • He’s anti-science to boot, and believes climate change is a media-fabricated conspiracy to “end civilization.”

If that’s not enough, we think our senators should know we’re aware of the fact that Pendley’s continued tenure as the acting director of the Bureau of Land Management is unconstitutional. The U.S. Constitution requires Senate confirmation and the law only allows acting directors to serve up to 210 days. It’s already well past that deadline, and the Trump administration just is hoping we don’t notice that he’s still very much in charge.

Well, we’re not just going to stop noticing that a racist extremist with a raft full of corporate conflicts is holding a position of power with a mandate to protect all public lands in the U.S.

Will you call your senators today? Tell them William Pendley is dangerously unfit, unconstitutional, and demand a pink slip -- now.

Thank you,
