You’re invited to join us on Wednesday, September 18 for a high impact event on Capitol Hill telling Congress to prioritize what our families really need--nutrition, healthcare, education, and disaster assistance programs-- in budget negotiations and reject funding for family separation and Trump’s hateful immigration policies.

So, what’s really happening?
Congress is back from August recess and are starting serious discussions about the federal budget and whether or not they will fund Trump’s hateful immigration policies. Congress needs to decide on a budget by the end of this month. A budget says everything about our priorities as a nation and President Trump's priorities are clear: He wants to use our hard earned tax dollars to fund detention centers that jail children and separate them from their families rather than programs that we really need that provide emergency aid in times of disaster, supporting our troops and their families, nutrition assistance, healthcare, education funding, and money to fix our roads and infrastructure.
We are going to deliver petitions, stories, and fact sheets to key members of the Senate to demand that they stand up against the Trump Administrations harmful immigration policies and reduce funding for ICE and CBP. We also are arranging sit down meetings with key Senators and/or their staff, and we want YOU there to share your thoughts on how our hard-earned tax dollars should be used.

Who: Moms, dads, kids, concerned people, U.S. Senators and/or their staff, and partners
What: Delivering letters calling on Congress to pass a budget that lifts up all families and cuts funding for Trump’s hateful anti-immigrant policies!
When: Wednesday, September 18, 10:00 am
Where: In front of the HUGE black mountain sculpture in the lobby of the Hart Senate Office Building (Constitution Ave. between 1st and 2nd NE. Closest metro station is Union Station).
