Friend,
My name is Margaret Bourdeaux. My sister Carolyn is running for Congress in GA-07, and I couldn’t be prouder of her -- but in order for her to win, she needs your support. That’s why I’m asking you to chip in today to support her campaign as we close in on Election Day.
Let me tell you a little bit about Carolyn.
Growing up, she displayed the tenacity and grit I know will make her a fantastic representative for Georgia families. Our parents were public school teachers, and when my father started a business that went under during an economic crisis, she was able to put herself through college and become a professor right here at Georgia State.
But, like she always reminds us, she couldn’t do that alone. She was able to get through school the same way our family was able to get back on track: Our neighbors and our community supported us and invested in us.
With the division in our politics today, it’s difficult to imagine that politics can be a force of good. But politics is about electing leaders, public servants willing to do the work of standing up for the families they represent -- not because it’ll guarantee them another term or more money in their campaign bank accounts, but simply because it’s the right thing to do.
Carolyn’s mission to do the right thing for her community has taken her from teaching students at a public university to balancing the Georgia budget in the midst of the 2008 financial crisis.
Now, she’s running for Congress to continue that mission -- and she needs our help.
Election Day is only nine days away, and it is imperative that we stand behind her and power this campaign through to the finish line so Georgia families get the representative they deserve in my sister. Can I count on you to chip in $5 or whatever you can to her campaign and make sure she wins?
