Team, so I'll start from the beginning.

I grew up really poor in Dallas. And by the time I was 17, I had dropped out of high school, run away from home, and became pregnant. 

I was told, "You're never going to make it," but I had my baby — Nicki, who is now a nurse. I got through college and law school with a young family. My community made an investment in me and didn't give up on me — and I certainly don't want to give up on this community. 

We were told that TX-25 is a district that couldn't be won. We were told that it was too gerrymandered, that we could never raise enough money because we don’t take PAC money. But we decided to do things a different way. 

We didn't listen to the experts. We met people where they were at in every corner of the district. We listened. We built a vision for the future shaped by their concerns. And now we're in a virtual dead heat with the wealthy incumbent.

I've been hearing "it can't be done" my whole life, but we're proving that it can be. And in order to make these last days count, we need to make sure we have the resources we need to share our closing argument with undecided voters.
