John,

Three years ago, Donald Trump took his first step towards dismantling the Affordable Care Act. With his lawsuit before the Supreme Court, years of relentless efforts by Trump and Senate Republicans to overturn the law could become a reality.

Despite the fact that Republicans have been working to overturn the Affordable Care Act for years, they still have no plan to replace it.

We simply cannot afford to reelect Susan Collins and let Mitch McConnell remain Majority Leader. There is far too much at stake — including our health care.

That’s why I’m working as hard as I can to defeat Senator Collins so Democrats can take back the Senate and protect our health care from Republican attacks. But I can’t win this race without your help, so I’m asking:

Can I count on you to make a contribution to support my campaign for U.S. Senate right now? Mainers are already voting so we are running out of time to win this race. Your immediate donation is much appreciated.

Senator Collins’ record on the Affordable Care Act is clear:

She’s voted twelve times to repeal or chip away at this law that hundreds of thousands of Mainers rely on for coverage, and she’s the reason it could be overturned by the Supreme Court next month.

She has voted seven times to repeal protections for people with preexisting conditions.

She has cosponsored two bills to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no replacement plan.

And she wrote a bill that would allow insurers to charge people higher premiums because of their health status.

John, I’ve spent the past year and a half visiting communities across Maine to hear what they need from their representatives in Washington — and in every single place I visited, someone had a story to share with me about healthcare.

I promise that as Maine’s next United States Senator, I will fight to protect American’s health care from Republican attacks. Because unlike Susan Collins, I believe health care is a fundamental human right — not something Mitch McConnell can rip away whenever he feels like it.

So please, make a contribution to support my campaign for United States Senate. Health care is on the ballot and we cannot lose this fight.

Thank you for reading and for working to elect Democrats this November.

All my best,

Sara Gideon
