Hello John,

POLITICO reported that a Trump official pressured the CDC to change its reporting on children and the coronavirus to make it appear as though children were not affected -- all to appease Donald Trump’s push to reopen schools.

Earlier in the year Trump threatened to cut funding for public schools if they didn’t reopen, and he has continued to claim that “children are at extremely low risk of complications from the virus” -- but the Washington Post has reported that although mortality rates among children are low, children are not immune to the terrible side effects of the virus. 33% of children hospitalized because of the virus have needed intensive care.

House Democrats have called for an additional $225 billion of funding for local schools to help them implement increased sanitation efforts and social distancing guidelines -- especially since data shows coronavirus cases in children increased by 90% as schools were forced to reopen.

But Republicans in the Senate blocked these efforts -- proposing a smaller relief plan despite experts warning that infections will continue to spike. As Congress debates its next relief package, we’re conducting a survey to find out what voters like you think about relief funding for our public schools as they brace for a potential second wave. Please, tell us:
