The GOP has openly embraced gerrymandering as an argument to motivate their supporters:

- First, the president of the Kansas state Senate told donors that, if the GOP maintained a supermajority, they could draw four Republican congressional maps in Kansas.
- Then, a state Senator in North Carolina told supporters on social media that Republicans must control redistricting in 2021 to guarantee Republican control of Congress.
- Now, in response, the NDRC is doubling down on our strategy of flipping state legislatures across the country to defeat pro-gerrymandering Republicans during redistricting.
