Hello John,

It was an honor to host Joe Biden today in Luzerne County and hear directly from him about everything that is at stake in this election. And there’s a lot at stake, but the one issue I keep thinking about is health care.

Donald Trump said it clear as day in this week’s debate: He is working to repeal the Affordable Care Act and all protections for those with pre-existing conditions in court.

That’s not the leadership we need. I would work with Joe Biden to build on the Affordable Care Act, bring down prescription drug prices, and always protect affordable coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.

But that can only happen if we win, John. And I wish I could say that Joe Biden’s first post-debate campaign travel was to Northeastern Pennsylvania just because he loves hanging out with me. But the truth is, this is a critical region for his election odds.

Experts say that if he lost Pennsylvania, Donald Trump would only have a 4% chance of winning re-election. And PA-08 is a key battleground district in this state. Donald Trump won it in 2016, but I won it in 2018, so it’s a real bellwether seat.

If our ground operation can keep this seat blue in 2020, Joe Biden will be in a commanding position to win this state and the presidency.
