We knew it was coming, and we are not surprised: Super PAC money has entered my race, making a huge investment and doubling down on the singular message of fear and division.

Their first spend was significant, and the image speaks for itself. As Joe Biden said, the dog whistles are as loud as fog horns. After sixteen months of divisive rhetoric and attacks, calling me “radical” and running smear campaigns, this is a further sign that desperation is sinking in. When they cannot attack me on substance, they have to double down on fear, hate, and division.

Thankfully, we know the vast majority of people in CT-05 are offended and repulsed by these tactics. We have received countless texts, emails, and messages over the last 24 hours, expressing utter disgust at receiving this mailer.

However, we also know this is just the beginning of the coordinated attack. The thing with these types of Super PACs: There is little transparency – we don’t know who or how much is there. We don’t know what they still have up their sleeves in these last 10 days or what other tactics they will deploy. But we do know they are desperate. And desperate people do desperate things...

I need you to make a commitment today to do whatever you can to help us win this. We cannot let these attacks go unanswered, but our response will be different. Our response will be to organize and mobilize and get our positive, unifying message out. Decide what you can do today to help us!
