Friend,
Our kids and teachers have been through a lot this year.
Our schools were already facing inadequate funding and ever-expanding classroom sizes. When you add in the burdens of teaching during a pandemic and keeping everyone safe, it’s more than anyone ever expected.
your state needs strong leaders who will make real investments in our public education system to guarantee that every child has access to strong public schools — Joe Biden will do just that.
Tell us you’ll stand with candidates — like Joe Biden — who will invest in our kids and our public schools.
Everyone wants schools to fully reopen for in-person instruction, but schools need the resources to re-open safely to prevent any outbreaks from happening again. In the short term, Joe Biden will secure emergency funding for our schools to help them reconfigure classrooms, physically distance students and implement strict cleaning standards to keep students and teachers safe.
In the long term, Joe Biden will get us on a path to fully fund our schools so we can bring down class sizes and give all kids, regardless of their ZIP code, the same opportunity to get ahead. He’ll give our educators the pay and respect they deserve. He’ll provide universal pre-kindergarten for all 3- and 4-year-olds. And he’ll provide every middle and high school student options for a successful career, including technical education and vocational training.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump has chosen to ignore the pandemic rather than address it. He threatened to force schools to reopen for in-person instruction or risk losing their funding. In fact, Trump didn’t offer our schools any extra resources to implement the changes necessary due to COVID.
It isn’t just COVID. Donald Trump doesn’t really care about our public schools. In the budget he proposed in February, Donald Trump cut education funding by $6.1 billion, and instead gave $5 billion in tax credits to subsidize private school vouchers.
Tell us you’ll vote to protect our public schools on Nov. 3.
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, we can take a huge step toward better public schools and a brighter future for all our kids. That’s why we’re supporting Joe Biden, and we hope you will too.
In solidarity,
Sydney Roberts
