"The Unspoken Reason the Alaska Senate Race Is So Close"
-Mother Jones

John,

In a moment, I'm going to ask you to chip in to our campaign. Let me tell you why -- this year didn't go the way we expected.

In March, we planned to establish a strong, face-to-face field campaign -- instead, the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Come July, our strategy required campaign volunteers knocking on every door in Alaska -- but then, we were all staying behind closed doors.

But we didn't give up. Instead, we decided to lean on the reason I got into this race in the first place: People.

I called my friends. And they called their friends, who then called their friends. Together, we built a grassroots movement centered around my bold prescription for change -- but amplified by the strong connections between friends, neighbors, and families.

Suddenly, the nation turned its eyes to Alaska, where last year's all-but-certain Republican stronghold became this year's top-tier battleground race.

Now it's October, when we thought we'd be chasing down Dan Sullivan in an attempt to gain the lead -- but Sullivan is chasing in what the polls say is a 1-point lead.

You did that, John. I am here because of people like you who believed in me and who believed in Alaska.

Some may say our success is unexpected, but I'm not surprised. I knew we could beat the odds and put Alaska on the battleground map -- and that's exactly what we did.

Now we must do even more -- and beat even greater odds.

We can defeat Dan Sullivan, ditch Mitch McConnell, and flip the Senate, but only if you and the rest of this grassroots team can step up once more in this final stretch.

It's never mattered more. Chip in $5 or whatever you can to help us beat the odds and win this critical battleground seat.
