It's getting real. Election Day is only ten days away. Absentee and early voting among young people ages 18-29 is ALREADY up drastically compared to 2016. We're doing everything we can in these final days to drive the largest youth voter turnout in history. Which means making sure that you know today is Vote Early Day. And to mark the day, we're giving you a little extra motivation from MFOL student leaders and some friends you may recognize.
This video is just a small slice of what we're doing in this final stretch. We want to make sure that everyone has the support and resources they need to vote AND encourage their friends and fam to do the same. So we're getting busy! Here's a quick rundown of what else we've got cooking. It's not too late to volunteer with us and get involved!
- Our 300-strong chapter network is dropping off election lit and yard signs in college towns.
- We have 55 badass youth organizers setting up a digital campaign office with the goal of text banking 250,000 young folks in key states to fight voting misinformation.
- We're partnering with Community Justice Action Fund to phonebank in BIPOC communities in TX and WI that have seen a drastic increase in gun violence over the past 5 years.
- We're holding Twitter Town Halls TONIGHT in races where youth can have an outsized electoral impact. Follow along with the hashtag #MFOLTwitterTownhall and join the convo.
- We created voter guides for 25+ candidates running in 20 different races in 18 different states at the attorney general, gubernatorial, and United States Senate levels.
This election is an opportunity. We will have fights ahead of us no matter the outcome, and voting is just one piece of our activism, not the end of it. But this is a crucial moment to force the leaders of this country to feel our power. So if you haven't already, make sure you cast your vote ASAP!
