Thinking back on my early days at Stand Up America, when it was just three of us in a co-working space, I could not have imagined what a crucial role we would play in the 2020 election. 

In the past year, our team has built one of the largest remote organizing programs around. Our volunteers have sent over 10 million texts across the country this election cycle, urging voters to get registered and cast their ballots either by mail, during early vote, or on November 3rd. And the enthusiasm is there. Nearly 52 million people have already voted, which is 37% of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election.

But it’s not just what they’ve achieved, it’s who they are. Our volunteers are dedicated, come from all walks of life, and are united in their vision for a better, progressive future. 

That’s why, with only 10 days left until Election Day, I feel good. Cautiously optimistic. If we can keep this momentum going, I know we have a good shot at electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House and flipping the Senate to start to repair our democracy.
