Dear John
School isn’t the only thing back in session this September -- Participatory Budgeting (PB) cycle 9 is underway and ideas are already flowing in!
Are you a fan of the Park Slope Library reading garden? Bus countdown clocks? Supporting Spanish-speaking teens to become educators? These are all ideas that your neighbors proposed and won funding for through PB.
Through PB, you have an opportunity to decide how to spend your tax dollars to improve our community. We need your ideas & your help to make our community more vibrant, more inclusive, more green, more imaginative, more generous, more fun.
Here’s how you can submit ideas, learn more, and get involved in the PBNYC process:
1. Come to a Neighborhood Assembly - Two Opportunities
Come out to a PB neighborhood assembly and bring your friends! You’ll learn more about the participatory budgeting process, brainstorm ideas with your neighbors, and submit ideas for this year’s ballot.

Participatory budgeting is grassroots democracy in action. From brainstorming ideas to researching costs to working with City agencies to deciding what’s on the ballot, community residents take shared leadership that leads to brilliant results. This process cannot work without your help.
If you’d like to volunteer as a budget delegate, a group facilitator, to help spread the word, or to get out the vote for this PBNYC cycle, please let us know here [[link removed]] .
Can’t wait to see what this cycle brings!
Brad
