The starting salary is ?12.72 per hour?(Level One) rising to ?13.32 per hour (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

Applications are invited for qualified Level 2 Swimming Instructors within the city's Leisure Centres, including: Clifton, Djanogly, Harvey Hadden Sports Village, John Caroll, Ken Martin, Southglade and Victoria pools.

The sucessful candidate will join a large and dedicated team who support schools in delivering the National Curriculum learning outcomes and aquatic activities to children and young people.

Nottingham City Council offers competitive rates of pay.? Duties will include teaching a spectrum of ages and abilities, whilst ensuring the safe supervision of the pool.? As a Swimming Teacher you will be responsible for producing appropriate lesson plans and schemes of work, assessing abilities and ensuring lessons are fun, progressive and motivating to meet the needs of the level being taught.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  • Level 2 in teaching aquatics.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

A recognised rescue award, either NPLQ Pool Lifeguard qualification or NRASTAC Rescue award for teachers and coaches (to be completed within the first three months of employment).

Experience in organsing, leading and promoting sports activities
