I will be voting against the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
Since Judge Barrett refused to even answer basic questions during her hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, we’re left to President Trump’s words and tweets. He has made it plain that he wants a Justice who will reverse the Affordable Care Act, overturn Roe v. Wade, and rule in his favor in any potential challenge regarding the results of the 2020 election.
One thing is crystal clear as Senate Republicans and President Trump disgracefully rush forward with Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court: they are hellbent on confirming a new, right-wing Justice by November 10 to overturn the Affordable Care Act.
I am deeply concerned about Judge Barrett’s views on the Affordable Care Act -- along with her downright refusal to answer questions about whether the President could delay an election, whether there should be a peaceful transfer of power, and the legality of voter intimidation.
There is an orange cloud hanging over this confirmation. The Senate should vote against it.
