Once again, Senate Democrats played election year games by insisting on their all-or-nothing approach instead of working to provide immediate relief to millions of American families, small businesses and farmers while other issues remain unresolved.

Iowa has a rich legacy in leading the nation and the world in agriculture production and innovation. Senator Ernst and I have worked tirelessly in the Senate to ensure the success of Iowa farm families for years to come.

Iowa’s years of sound governance and fiscal responsibility, including a rainy day fund, has paid off in times like this. Now Democrats want Iowans’ federal tax money to bail out irresponsible state governments. And they refuse to pass relief for struggling families until they get their bailouts.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett was unanimously voted out of the Judiciary Committee this week with Senator Ernst and I both voting in favor. She is a highly qualified nominee to the Supreme Court and I’m pleased to support her nomination.
