$100,000 October Matching Gift Challenge
[link removed]
Dear John,
Anyone who has ever been or known an
Alzheimer's disease caregiver realizes it can be a demanding, unpaid,
full-time commitment.
Yet, there are little things we can do
to help. A call of encouragement, a few hours of coverage so
caregivers can enjoy some time off, a friendly visit with a cup of tea
or a gift basket - all of these gestures can show we care and
provide support.
The fact is those little things aren't
so little after all. And neither is the gift you send today, as you
can make twice the impact in the fight against Alzheimer's during our
$100,000 October Matching Gift Challenge. Will you please give now?

$16 can become $32.

$30 can become $60.

$50 can become $100.

John, we've
gotten closer in recent days, thanks to those who have already given.
But the October 31 deadline will be here soon, and we need your
support. There are more than 5 million people living with Alzheimer's
in America today and 16 million caregivers, so your gift is urgently
needed to provide care and support and advance research.

I hope you'll help. Your generosity will support our mission to lead
the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by
accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early
detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Our $100,000 October Matching Gift
Challenge is made possible thanks to Cheryl Gross, who has pledged to
match every donation made to this challenge, up to a total of
$100,000. She lost her mother to Alzheimer's in 2011, after a brave,
decade-long fight.

Cheryl has dedicated her gift to
support the Association's efforts to advance the technology that
powers our global research efforts and support programs. As Cheryl
says, "You just have to get involved and do what you can to stop
this devastation."
[link removed]
The devastation has been even greater
this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many long-term care
settings didn't have the resources they needed to fight it. Caregivers
are often unable to see their loved ones during this strenuous time,
and others caring for someone at home may not have access to respite
or adult day care. It's extremely clear that we must do more to
provide outreach, advance research and deliver caregiver support
- and every day counts.
John, you
understand the urgency we face. It's not just a race to raise $100,000
by October 31. It's a much more critical race to provide the
much-needed care and support services and advance research toward
methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Until that
happens, we're all at risk. Every dollar is important, so I know you
won't want to miss the opportunity to have the impact of your
generosity multiplied 2X during our $100,000 October Matching Gift
Challenge.

Please join us in the fight to end
Alzheimer's while your gift can be matched before the October 31
