Team,

As we speak, a critical and unexpectedly competitive U.S. House race is happening in North Carolina’s 11th congressional district between Democrat Moe Davis — a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, law professor, and judge — and Madison Cawthorn, a Republican with an alleged history of lying, sexual misconduct, and a penchant for racism.

Before I tell you more, let me cut to the chase: Moe can win. He’s up 3 points in the polls right now in a race that Nate Silver’s 538 is calling a "toss-up."

Can you rush a contribution of $10 or whatever’s in your budget to support my and Moe’s campaigns in this final stretch before Election Day?

You may have recently read how Cawthorn’s campaign set up a website attacking a local Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for his "work for non-white males, like Cory Booker, who aims to ruin white males."

So just to be clear, Cawthorn is attacking this person for… working with black men like me?

It’s an explicitly racist attack that mirrors the hateful, divisive rhetoric President Trump has used when attacking me.

Look, Cawthorn is clearly unfit to serve based on his racist tactics alone. He’s also posted deeply troubling pictures on Instagram of his “bucket list” trip to Adolf Hitler’s vacation home in Germany. He’s lied about getting into the U.S. Naval Academy, Harvard University, and Princeton University, and more than 150 of his former college classmates recently published a letter accusing Cawthorn of "sexually predatory behavior, vandalism and lying."

But in a fight to save this traditionally red seat and elect another Trump Republican to Congress, GOP groups are spending over $1 million in attack ads against Moe in this final sprint to the election.

This race is personal for me — my dad is from Hendersonville, part of the 11th district, and I believe North Carolinians there deserve a leader like Moe who knows the value of leadership. He’ll put country over party, tell the truth, support our veterans, create jobs, and defend our health care in Congress.

Early votes are already coming in for this race, and it’s critical we keep momentum up for Moe. Will you split a contribution to elect a true leader like Moe and keep his opponent and his racist attacks out of Congress?
