We had a request last week for a family of three who shares a small house with friends. They can’t afford to live in a place of their own. They have a son who has been borrowing clothes from their friend’s child.

He’s been feeling very uncomfortable because the clothes are too small. When the health care nurse saw this little boy, his pants were well above his ankles. His jacket was very snug and the shoes he was wearing were far too small. His Dad did his very best to try and wriggle his feet into the shoes but when the little boy stood up, he could barely walk.

Will you please support today [[link removed]] with $126 to provide essentials like shoes and clothes that fit, toys, books, and nappies?

They had to head out to an appointment that afternoon so his Dad ended up taking the shoes off. The nurse saw this poor little boy walk barefoot out in the cold weather.

This is the daily reality for many families living in poverty. When our children grow out of their shoes or wear them out we buy them a new pair. They don’t have to be expensive but we all know how important it is to have shoes that fit.

Many of the families we support have to decide between shoes and putting food on the table.
