Dear Jack,

I apologize for the late email on a Friday, but, honestly, this can’t wait: A new poll released yesterday has Republicans taking the lead in Michigan’s Senate race. My friend, Sen. Gary Peters, is two points behind his GOP opponent, 50%-48%.

I know it’s “just one poll,” but there are two reasons why this is particularly concerning.

  1. This comes on the heels of a Mitch McConnell-aligned Super PAC dumping $9 million worth of ads in Michigan to flip this seat.

  2. This is the first-ever poll to show Gary’s opponent, John James, polling at 50%. That means that even if all undecided voters break for Gary, he’ll still be behind.

Democrats have no viable path to the Senate majority if we lose Michigan.

We need to step up and make sure Gary’s team has the resources to retake the lead. I promised we could raise $15,000 TONIGHT—while there’s still time to get ads on the air and fight back.

Thank you,

Kirsten
