Dr. Cameron Webb for Congress

John,

Four hundred forty-three days ago, we launched this campaign for Congress in Virginia’s Fifth District. There was no fanfare or pomp and circumstance, but there was a commitment: I would fight to ensure opportunities for health and success for everyone.

In the one year, two months, and sixteen days since we launched, so many things have changed. We were confronted with a global health pandemic. Tragedy sparked a national conversation about racial justice. The incumbent Congressman in VA-05 lost in a drive-thru convention. We saw the district go from “Likely Republican” to “Leans Republican”, and now to “Toss Up.” But our commitment has remained steadfast on every single day of this race.

So, with only 11 days left until Election Day, we have an opportunity that only a few believed in at the outset. We have an opportunity to flip this district from red-to-blue for the first time in over a decade. We have the chance to show the Commonwealth—and the nation—that districts like ours aren’t committed to a single party, but to whoever they can trust to thoughtfully engage their needs and concerns.

Even with all of our progress and momentum, we know that this race will be won by only a slim margin. While my opponent and his allies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on false attacks, we continue to focus on the real issues at stake in this election. While they seek to sow division and discord, we speak to the need for healing and unity. Our two approaches to representing this district couldn’t be more different.

But thanks to supporters like you, we’ve inched ahead in the polls and are in a position to win this race on November 3rd if we can hold on. We spend every day reaching out to voters and fighting back against the misinformation, knowing that we cannot let up the pace until the polls close November 3rd. If we stand together, we can make sure that VA-05 gets a leader that will fight for them.

My opponent got a boost of $350,000 from his special interest allies this week, and we need to raise $23,482 more by tonight to keep up with their attacks. Your grassroots gifts really do make a difference — can you pitch in any amount by midnight to help us reach this critical goal?
