My friend Christy Smith lost her bid for Congress in the CA-25 special election this past May.

I won’t sugarcoat it: This was a tough loss. But more important than the loss itself, John, is the fact that Republicans saw this as an opportunity to flip CA red and pick up other seats in the region.
