John,

I am sad to report that the process to confirm Trump’s nominee to succeed Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amy Coney
Barrett, to the Supreme Court continues in the Senate.

This is just the latest move in the Federalist Society’s chess game to secure a conservative majority on thenation’s highest courts for decades to come.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse laid bare their master plan for all to see — it starts with building a bench of young, conservative activists like Amy Coney Barrett and Brett
Kavanaugh. But now we’re seeing their work come to fruition.

With a formidable 6-3 conservative majority looming, nothing is off the table.

Justices Alito and Thomas have already floated overturning the decision that legalized same-sex marriage. As a
law professor, Amy Coney Barrett argued against the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. And since her hearings started, she refused to say she would recuse herself if a contested election makes its way to the Supreme Court this
year.

It’s particularly heinous to see Republicans, including some of whom have tested positive for COVID-19, break precedent and rush through the nomination process just to make it
easier to repeal Obamacare and jeopardize health coverage for millions of Americans amidst a pandemic.

This isn’t theoretical. This impacts real people.
Take Nancy Larson for example. She’s a hard-working mom who lives right here in GA-04. A recipient of a kidney transplant 15 years
ago, without the ACA, Nancy’s condition would be impossible to manage. She would most likely lose her healthcare due to a pre-existing condition preclusion or a lifetime cap preclusion.

“Without the ACA, I likely would not have quality health insurance right now. My kidney transplant is a
pre-existing condition,” said kidney transplant recipient Nancy Larson. “If the Trump-GOP lawsuit is successful, insurance
companies will be able to once again deny coverage to people like me or price us out of the market. The ACA has been a lifesaver
for me and the 4.3 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions.”

Though she dodged critical questions during her confirmation hearings, Amy Coney Barrett cannot hide her
hostility to the Affordable Care Act — her record speaks for itself. We can’t keep leaving such consequential decisions to
Trump’s stacked Supreme Court, not after what conservative activists like the Federalist Society have done to our federal court system.

Will you chip in to support me as I fight back against the far-right’s attempts to take America back to the
1950’s by using the federal courts to create policies that will make our country less fair, less inclusive, and less healthy?
