In the final debate of the 2020 election, the tragic life and death consequences of Donald Trump’s presidency were on full display. Even as he proclaimed the virus was "going away", COVID-19 deaths are climbing, and there is no end in sight to the suffering and economic pain caused by his failure to act decisively to address this historic health crisis.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell and Republicans are continuing to block serious negotiations on a new COVID relief package to help struggling Americans. Instead, they are focused on ramming through a right wing Supreme Court Justice to eliminate the Affordable Care Act in the middle of a raging pandemic and then take away a woman's right to reproductive freedom under Roe v. Wade.

Americans are suffering, and our democracy is under attack. That's why we can't leave anything to chance.

It's imperative that we stay focused on getting out every vote and not only defeating Trump but also silencing Mitch McConnell's destructive gavel, which has made the Senate a place where good legislation goes to die, and extreme right-wing judges go to get confirmed.

TAKE BACK THE SENATE

For months Trump has been trying to undermine confidence in our election process. Now with just 11 days to go, we also find ourselves bombarded by allegations from the Director of National Intelligence of foreign intervention in an email intimidation scheme directed at Democratic voters.

These are serious issues, and I have been focused on deterring foreign intervention in our elections for years. If Mitch McConnell and the Trump administration are finally ready to act on this, they should move immediately to pass my bipartisan Deter Act to do just that.

The next 11 days are likely to be a rough ride, but we must go full steam ahead to finish strong. Chip in whatever you can before tonight's deadline to our "Victory Now" fund, which supports frontline Democrats running to take back the Senate!
