Evergreen

Friend,

My friend Katharine Wilkinson and I recently launched a new podcast, "A Matter of Degrees: Stories for the Climate Curious." And yesterday, we released a new episode that tells the inside story of where Joe Biden's 2035 target for 100% clean electricity came from: the Inslee campaign!

You've probably seen the names of former Inslee staffers Sam Ricketts and Bracken Hendricks in your inbox (they're now on the Evergreen team). Sam and Bracken came on the podcast to tell us how they worked with Governor Inslee to arrive at the 2035 target, a plan that's more ambitious than any state law on the books and one that Biden is now running on.

We talk about how technologically feasible it is (very!) and how it could catalyze emissions reductions of 70-80% across the entire economy through electrification. We also talk with Evergreen Advisory Board member Sonia Aggarwal about how transitioning to clean electricity could bring down utility bills.

I think you'll be as excited as I was to hear this story. A bold climate agenda is on the ballot this fall. Will you listen in and share these ideas with your friends and family?

Listen to (and then share!) the podcast to brush up on what's at stake for the climate in this fall's presidential election.
