This year is our chance to elect the most progressive Congress ever. We can and must aspire to more than just defeat Trump and flip the Senate.
We can elect a wave of progressives into Congress who will join the fight for our progressive ideas and stand up to the corporate interests who have rigged the system.
That's why I'm proud to endorse three progressives running extremely competitive races in Republican-held districts: Kara Eastman (NE-02), Jon Hoadley (MI-06), and Qasim Rashid (VA-01). They all have embraced the Green New Deal for the popular, winning issue that it is and will be critical to our fight to pass it in 2021.
All of them can win, but they need our help.

These candidates are all unabashed progressives with records of serving their communities. Let me tell you a bit more about each:
Kara Eastman (NE-02) is a social worker, a mother, and a nationally recognized nonprofit leader fighting to give Nebraska families greener, safer, and healthier homes. She will fight for the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. She lost by just 1.9% in 2018, and with our help, she can close that gap and win this year.
Jon Hoadley (MI-06) has demonstrated his tireless commitment to his community and to protecting working families as a state representative. Jon knows that we must prioritize health care, education, and our environment, and deliver a just and equitable future for all. That's why he's all-in for Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. And if elected, he will be the first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress from Michigan.
Qasim Rashid (VA-01) is a human rights activist and proud immigrant who will be a powerful fighter for a Green New Deal and Medicare for All. His historic campaign demonstrates the power of grassroots organizing even in historically Republican districts. If elected, he will make history as the first Muslim elected to Congress from Virginia.
Passing the Green New Deal will require us to defeat Republicans across the country who have long stood in our way, and these victories would prove once and for all that progressive ideas like the Green New Deal are winning issues everywhere.
