Get Out the Vote: Detroit
U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib, from Michigan's 13th congressional district (pictured on the left, in the photo above) joined our Louis Bailey (on the right) to help get out the vote in Detroit. Bailey and Kerene Tayloe headed to Michigan to support our Environmental Justice Forum partners, the Eastern Michigan Environmental Action Council ([link removed]) and Green Door Initiatives ([link removed]) , with early voting and voter registration efforts as part of the local 1528 Mobile Voter Registration Drive. They discussed the importance of voting, answered questions about the process, and registered 65 people to vote. Our Federal Policy Office ([link removed]) in Washington, DC serves as the facilitator of the EJ Forum, a national coalition of 60-plus environmental justice organizations working together to advance climate justice and impact policy to ensure the protection and promotion of communities of color and low-income
communities throughout the U.S.
